William and his friend Kevin went fishing in a canoe at Lake McConaughy. The weather was windy and waves were breaking from three to five feet high. At 4:45 pm, people in a power boat spotted the tip of the canoe sticking out of the water. Kevin was found drowned, William has never been found.
