JohnTavious got off a school bus in the area of 36th and Forest Lawn Avenue to walk home after school. A vehicle drove up and a suspect got out of the vehicle and fired several shots. At 3:28 p.m, Omaha Police were dispatched to the area regarding a shooting. Officers located JohnTavious in the area suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he would later die from his injuries.
