In June of 2019, the family of John Waller had heard from him, which was unusual. They also learned that he wasn’t showing up for work. On June 17, 2019, police did a wellness check on John at his home in the 700 block of SW Wayne in Topeka, Kansas.
John was found deceased inside the home. Officers who arrived on the scene witnessed “several suspicious circumstances” that spurred them to secure the area and call in detectives. It was determined that the crime occured between June 3 and June 4.
Officers questioned neighbors, family, and coworkers with no leads. They are still looking for information or home surveillance from the area from around the time of June 3 and June 4.
