Dennis and a roommate started a canoe trip in Torrington, Wyoming and planned to canoe down the North Platte River back to Scottsbluff, Nebraska. At about 7 pm, one mile west of Henry, Nebraska, the canoe overturned. The roommate made it to shore, but Dennis didn’t. Dennis’s life jacket was found downstream. He is presumed drowned.
