In March of 2004, Carl Bittner Jr’s remains were discovered in a shallow grave in an undeveloped area west of Salt Creek. He had been reported missing in 2002. Investigators could not determine his cause of death. However, forensic pathologists discovered a nick to his bones that might’ve been caused by a knife, but the damage could’ve happened after he died.
